Happy birthday to the king of Italian Blues, Adelmo Fornaciari, known as Zucchero. Born on September 25, 1955, in Reggio Emilia, the musician with over 60 million records sold has turned 70 and has chosen to celebrate from the stage of the Verona Arena. The musician has always been inspired by American blues, revisiting it and blending it with Italian pop and singer-songwriter influences. He is now recognized for his exceptional collaborations with a wide range of artists, including Miles Davis, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, BB King, Sting, Bono, Joe Cocker, Peter Gabriel, Mark Knopfler, and Queen. He also received a Grammy nomination in 2007 and had a live performance in Havana in 2012, which was described as the largest concert ever staged by a foreign musician in Cuba, with over 80,000 people in attendance. His greatest singles include 'Senza una donna' (1987), dedicated to his ex-wife Angela, as well as 'Diavolo in me' (1989) and 'Diamante' (1989), which was also reinterpreted in English in a special version with Randy Crawford's voice.
