The tourism industry's turnover is increasing: summer arrivals grew by 6.22% compared to the same period in 2024. Between June 21 and September 21, 71.68 million tourists stayed overnight in Italian accommodation, up from roughly 67.5 million the year before. International tourism is driving this rise, with arrivals from overseas reaching nearly 41 million (+8.14%), while Italian arrivals reached 30.7 million, a little increase (+3.8%) from 29.6 million in summer 2024. Agritourism is one of the most popular non-hotel lodging options, with arrivals increasing by 70% over the last decade. According to Coldiretti, there will be around 5.1 million arrivals this year at the more than 26,000 agritourisms chosen by individuals who prefer wine tourism, leisurely tourism, and exploring lesser-known regions. Positive results also for mountain resorts, which achieved important numbers despite the bad weather that marked July.
