Fincantieri and TUI Cruises (a joint venture of TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.) have signed an agreement to design and build two new cruise ships. This order replaces the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed in March 2025 with TUI AG for the construction of two ships intended for the Marella Cruises brand. The vessels, which are scheduled for delivery in 2031 and 2032, will be sister ships of the InTUItion-class ships "Mein Schiff Relax" and "Mein Schiff Flow" and will be powered by dual-fuel engines (LNG and MGO). The new ships, with a gross tonnage of roughly 160,000 tons, will be larger than those originally planned for Marella Cruises and built to the most recent environmental standards. Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and General Manager of Fincantieri, stated, "We are delighted to deepen our association with the TUI Cruises brand, thereby expanding our relationship with both TUI and Royal Caribbean. This contract serves as confirmation of the trust that we have established over time and the successful collaboration that has already begun with the initial two InTUition-class ships. It also demonstrates Fincantieri's ability to support the fleet expansion of the world's premier cruise lines while integrating innovation, sustainability, and Italian shipbuilding quality".
