Logistics is still one of the most dynamic areas in the Italian job market. According to Unioncamere data, approximately 180,000 new recruits are anticipated between September and November, which accounts for 12% of the anticipated national revenue. Furthermore, the industry remains second in terms of temporary workers: according to a recent iziwatch research, logistics accounts for 15% of total applications, trailing only IT and business services (29%). This is followed by large-scale retail (13%), public services (12%), catering and hotels (7%), and the food industry (5%). Pickers, drivers, and packers are the most in-demand positions, and the average age of temporary workers is 34, with the 25-34 age group leading the way (41%). This is a huge opportunity, particularly for young people, to gain skills and experience in the industry through temporary contracts. Lombardy leads the regional rankings with 34% of the requests, followed by Piedmont (23%), Emilia-Romagna, and Veneto (15% each). Milan is the city with the highest concentration of temporary workers (18%), ahead of Alessandria (13%), Verona (11%) and Bologna (9%).
