The exhibition "Dalí: Between Art and Myth" opened in Parma this last Saturday. On Wednesday morning, Carabinieri officials from the Cultural Heritage Protection Unit in Rome seized 21 pieces ascribed to Salvador Dalí that were thought to be fake. The investigation began after anomalies were found in another exhibition with the same title, set up in Rome. Following a report from the Fundación Gala – Salvador Dalí, the organization responsible for safeguarding the artist's copyright in Spain and internationally, the 'Dipartimento Criminalità diffusa e grave' of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office issued a seizure order. The pieces were subsequently removed and taken into custody, as investigations continue to determine responsibilities and the circumstances of the case.
