"Europe must speed up its decision-making processes or risk losing its importance and becoming a tourist attraction. Today's world moves at a radically different pace than in the past; everything changes in the course of a year. To survive, we must speed up the decision-making process; else, in five years, we may be installing a Disneyland sign in the Alps near the Italian border". This was stated by TIM CEO Pietro Labriola during a panel discussion on sovereign cloud and digital at the Italian Tech Week in Turin. Labriola stated, "We must have the bravery to make decisions, and this is the responsibility of managers and corporations, but most importantly, of institutions. It is imperative that we recognize that Europe is no longer the global epicenter and cannot afford to be dragged along. We need to regain some leadership, and this can only be accomplished through bold moves like establishing a sovereign cloud".
