The Silent Film Festival, which is currently underway in Pordenone and will conclude on October 11th, will feature a week of screenings of two hundred films. The festival is directed by Jay Weissberg and addresses contemporary issues, including themes such as antimilitarism and war, which are present in multiple sections. It also relies on comedy as a spiritual cure, with the retrospective "Six Degrees of Charlie", which celebrates Chaplin-mania. This is complemented by Ukrainian children's comedy, Max Fleischer's "The Adventures of Koko the Clown", and Buster Keaton, who finishes the festival with "Our Hospitality," backed by an orchestra. The schedule includes trip documentaries, a tribute to Liguria, the Belgian avant-garde, and, as always, numerous special events, great classics, rediscoveries, and fresh restorations. The audience is large, with individuals from all over Italy traveling to Pordenone.
