Dongfeng, the Chinese state-owned automaker, aims to expand its presence in Europe by tripling its sales to 80,000 units in 2026, a significant increase from the 25,000 to 30,000 units it sold this year. In Italy, the firm anticipates selling between 7,500 and 9,000 automobiles. These goals were announced in Turin during the launch of the product line that, beginning in 2026, will feature over 15 models from three brands: Dongfeng, Voyah, and M-Hero. The lineup will include city cars, MPVs, and vans with a wide range of engines, including electric, range-extender (Reev), plug-in hybrids with ranges of up to 1,500 kilometers, hybrids, and gasoline. Prices will range from €17,000 to €200,000 for the flagship model, the M-Hero 817 — an all-electric SUV with 1,000 horsepower. "We have a team of 1,200 people. We are confident in our abilities and intend to win the European market. We don't have holidays or Sundays; we work 24/7, and the phone can ring at any time. But we are marathon runners, not sprinters", said Dongfeng's Head of Europe, Xie Qian. "In Italy and Europe, we want to become market leaders, just as we are in China. We have a product line that can match the needs of any consumer in terms of pricing and powertrain", said Massimiliano Alesi, COO of Dongfeng Italy.
