U.S. director Jessie Van Der Vyver, with ‘One More Time’, won the eighth edition of VerticalMovie, the first international festival dedicated to vertical-format audiovisuals. The Casa del Cinema in Rome, which hosts the festival, is currently in its eighth year. It was founded in 2018 on the idea and conviction of artistic director Salvatore Marino: that the smartphone format is more than just a method to watch, but also a new way of storytelling. Hence the festival. Jessie Van Der Vyver's short film received an award for an eco-friendly and biodegradable giraffe produced in 3D using plant-based polymers.
