From the pedestrianization of the Bocca della Verità area to a new terrace overlooking the Tiber from Lungotevere Aventino, and the restoration of the former Papal Arsenal as the future home of the Quadriennale di Roma. These are some of the initiatives envisioned in the Strategic and Operational Plan presented at the international conference "The Tiber and the City: A Great Green and Blue Infrastructure for Urban Regeneration" to transform the Tiber into one of Rome's future cornerstones, as well as a new vision of the city centered on ecological transition. This initiative envisions the Tiber as an environmental, social, and cultural infrastructure stretching along 75 km of natural, urban, and peri-urban landscapes—from Settebagni to Ostia. As it traverses the Roman countryside to the north, the "modern" city of Flaminio, the historic center within the walls, the former industrial city of Ostiense-Marconi, and the agricultural landscapes of the Tiber's dual mouth, it serves as the catalyst for new ecological connections and the driver of widespread territorial regeneration. According to Rome's mayor, Roberto Gualtieri, "it's a dream for the next Jubilee" in 2033. Yet, the roundtable for its implementation "will be convened in the next few days, in any case by early November”, said Rome's Environment Councilor Sabrina Alfonsi.
