Italy's participation in Expo 2025 Osaka ended with extraordinary success. The Italian Pavilion was awarded the most prestigious award in the Theme Development category by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), the intergovernmental organization that supervises and awards Universal Expositions. "Art Regenerates Life" was the theme of the Pavilion, which was designed by a team managed by the studio of architect Mario Cucinella. It was a contemporary reinterpretation of the Ideal City of the Renaissance, featuring a theater, porticoes, piazza, and garden—places that are essential to Italy's urban and social identity. Inside, until yesterday, visitors could admire original works by Caravaggio and Leonardo da Vinci — among the most sought-after pieces of the entire Expo — along with masterpieces by Tintoretto, Boccioni, Jago, and even a reproduction of Arturo Ferrarin’s airplane, which in 1920 made history with the Rome–Tokyo flight. A true showcase of Made in Italy, the pavilion aimed to highlight Italians’ talent for innovation, as also demonstrated
by the exhibition “Italy of Patents: Successful Inventions and Innovations", curated by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy and enthusiastically visited by the public.
