Work continues unabated in preparation for the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with infrastructure and facilities prepared for unforgettable competitions. With 115 days until the start of the Winter Olympics, technological upgrades and interventions are taking place on the slopes of Cortina d'Ampezzo and at the Tesero Cross-Country Center in Trentino to ensure full access to Paralympic events, including those for blind and visually impaired athletes. These venues will host alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, and biathlon — disciplines that combine precision, technology, and perfect coordination between athlete and guide. In biathlon, a sport that combines cross-country skiing and shooting, advanced acoustic systems convert aim into sound signals, enabling athletes to strike the target by hearing. In Alpine skiing, on the other hand, the guide goes ahead of the athlete and conveys direction, pace, and turns in real time: a language of trust and timing that substitutes sight with speech. The competitions follow worldwide classifications that ensure fairness and safety. A sports approach that blends technology, preparation, and inclusivity, leaving a tangible legacy of improved facilities, better protocols, and a legacy of innovation that will last beyond the Games.
