Italian intelligence celebrates its centenary. On October 15, 1925, King Vittorio Emanuele II and Benito Mussolini issued the Royal Decree, which established the Military Intelligence Service. To mark the occasion, a commemorative €5 coin and a postage stamp have been issued. Yesterday, the heads of Italian intelligence were received by the President of the Republic, and fallen agents were honored. The Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato minted a €5 silver commemorative coin, while the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy issued a postage stamp. Italy's intelligence activities are carried out by the Department of Security Intelligence (DIS) and two operational agencies: the Agency for Internal Information and Security (AISI) and the Agency for External Information and Security (AISE). Italian intelligence agencies collaborate with critical allies such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and France, as well as international organizations like NATO and Europol.
