Luca Vildoza, a 30-year-old Argentine playmaker for Virtus Bologna, and his wife Milica were arrested in Bologna on Wednesday night for assaulting a female ambulance worker on Viale Silvani. The two were eventually released, pending further inquiry. According to the police investigation, around 11 p.m., a patrol car from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid responded to a report of an assault on healthcare personnel. The paramedics had pulled over to locate the site of an emergency call when a black car approached and its driver began yelling at them for no apparent reason. The situation deteriorated when one of the paramedics, an Italian woman born in 1970, stepped out of the car to ask for an explanation. Allegedly, the young woman grabbed the woman by the hair and neck, and the man subsequently held her down and lifted her by the neck. Other healthcare professionals promptly intervened to separate them, just before the police arrived. After the prosecutor's office refused to proceed with a summary trial, the two were released. Vildoza was thus able to travel regularly with Virtus to France for the match against Asvel Lyon.
