A serious incident occurred following Pistoia’s away game in Rieti, part of the Serie A2 basketball championship. During the return trip, the bus carrying the Tuscan fans came under attack from a barrage of stones. One of the attacks hit the front of the vehicle, critically injuring the second driver who was sitting on the passenger side. According to certain local media sources, the man died soon after from his injuries. The attack appears to have occurred immediately after leaving the sports complex, when some people hiding on the side of the road suddenly threw rocks at the windshield. The basketball world is in shock and mourning as law enforcement investigates the incident to find those guilty for this careless and tragic act.
