The Rome Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into kidnapping and shipwreck risk in connection with occurrences recorded by the legal team of the Italian delegation that participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla's mission to Gaza. The investigation, which is currently being conducted against unknown individuals, is intended to retrace the navigation circumstances and the alleged drone strikes that took place at two distinct periods, as well as the phases that followed the boarding by Israeli forces. In the next weeks, magistrates will interrogate the 36 Italian activists on board to acquire firsthand testimony and probe deeper into the allegations, which include attempted murder and torture.
