Following the acquisition of German broadcaster ProSieben, MediaForEurope (Italian Mediaset) is changing its entire board of directors and appointing a top management team to lead the German broadcaster toward a more profitable model that is more aligned with the company's pan-European plan. MFE CEO Pier Silvio Berlusconi has appointed the manager who has assisted him and the board of directors in the development of Mediaset over the last 25 years, both financially and otherwise. Marco Giordani, MFE's CFO and board member, will become CEO of ProSiebenSat.1, appointed by the supervisory board (as per Germany’s dual governance system). Bert Habets, the current CEO, is leaving but will continue to serve as a senior advisor "to ensure a smooth transition until the end of the year", according to the statement. Marco Giordani has been MFE's CFO since 2000, and he has played a critical role in the company's expansion plan, operational optimization, and financial position strengthening. He has more than thirty years of financial and strategic leadership expertise in the media and retail industries. ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, with €4 billion in revenue, is Europe's second-largest radio and television company by number of households supplied. It is headquartered in Bavaria and operates in various countries, with dominant positions in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
