Pasta remains one of Italy's top five identity characteristics, alongside monuments, art, landscapes, and literature. For eight out of ten Italians, it is the unquestionable icon of Italianness, and for 96.6%, it represents Made in Italy around the world. This emerges from a survey commissioned by the pasta makers of Unione Italiana Food to AstraRicerche, ahead of World Pasta Day (Saturday, October 25). The link is also evident in behavior: one-third of Italians eat pasta every day, and two-thirds believe it is the most typical food of the Mediterranean diet. To celebrate this cultural and economic heritage, whose exports are expected to increase by 2.5% in the first half of 2025 despite geopolitical tensions and the threat of new tariffs, Unione Italiana Food has inaugurated in Rome, at the Galleria Alberto Sordi, the digital exhibition “Orgoglio Pasta” (“Pasta Pride”), open to the public until Saturday, October 25.
