From the magnificent statues of Sennefer, Ramesses VI, and Thutmose III to beautiful royal treasures, masterfully carved everyday objects, and sarcophagi adorned with religious symbols. This is how the exhibition “Treasures of the Pharaohs”, open until May 3, 2026, at the Scuderie del Quirinale in Rome and inaugurated by President Sergio Mattarella, captivates visitors. The exhibition showcases the great artistic brilliance and profound spirituality that made ancient Egypt one of history's most interesting civilizations, offering an outstanding opportunity to view 130 masterpieces from Egypt's most renowned museums. The works on display will allow visitors to discover this incredible story, from the beginnings of Pharaonic civilization to the splendor of the great rulers of the New Kingdom and the Third Intermediate Period, all the way up to the most significant archaeological discoveries of recent years. The exhibition is divided into six themed sections that highlight the complexity of Egyptian civilization, the divine authority of the pharaohs, daily living, religious beliefs, burial traditions, and the most recent archaeological finds. The show is the culmination of a significant cultural diplomacy collaboration between Italy and Egypt. This collaboration has facilitated the extraordinary loan of masterpieces from some of Egypt's most significant institutions, such as the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and the Luxor Museum. Many of these works will be displayed in Italy for the first time. The show also benefits from the participation of the Egyptian Museum of Turin, which has made major contributions and supplied an extraordinary loan.
