Alessandra and Allegra Gucci — daughters of Patrizia Reggiani, convicted for ordering the 1995 murder of her husband, fashion heir Maurizio Gucci — have been denied their request to assume legal responsibility for their mother’s affairs. Il Giornale reports that the court rejected their appeal to replace Patrizia’s current legal guardian, Marco Accolla.
The sisters, who have maintained a close relationship with their mother, argued that Accolla’s annual fee of €170,000 was unreasonably high, while family properties — including the iconic Gothic villa on Via Andreani — were being sold at undervalued prices.
Judge Cristina Bassi praised the daughters’ commitment to their mother but ruled it “highly inappropriate” for Allegra Gucci to become her legal guardian, given the nature of the crime committed by Reggiani against her own family.
The decision left the sisters frustrated, as they questioned several other judicial choices made in recent years. Among them: the authorization of €30,000 per month for Patrizia’s personal expenses; the appointment of individuals allegedly linked to past misconduct; and the sale of the Monza property, Il Cam, for €4 million instead of its estimated value of nine.
“How could all this happen under court supervision?” the Gucci sisters asked, vowing to continue their legal battle for greater transparency in managing their mother’s estate.
