In 2026, 15.4 million cruise passengers are anticipated in Italy, a 2.6% increase over 2025, with record highs in the ports of Civitavecchia, Genoa, Palermo, Messina, Cagliari, Ravenna, Salerno, and Catania. The anticipated results for 2026, as detailed in the latest edition of Risposte Turismo's Italian Cruise Watch, are predicated on forecasts for more than 50 ports, which collectively account for 91% of national cruise traffic and ship calls. The findings take into account a variety of factors that can influence medium-term traffic predictions, such as probable changes to ship itineraries over the season and expected average ship occupancy. Civitavecchia will, in particular, reaffirm its position as the country's leading cruise port and one of the world's leading ports, with 3.7 million passenger movements (embarkations, disembarkations, and transits, a 4.8% increase over 2025) and 900 docks (a 1.1% increase over 2025). Its 2025 rankings will be confirmed with Naples second (about 1.9 million passengers) and Genoa third (1.7 million).
