A new — and irresistibly sweet — world record was set along Salerno’s seafront: the world’s longest chocolate bar, measuring 35.15 meters. The creation is the work of master chocolatier Mirco Della Vecchia, whose achievement was officially certified by a notary present at the event. The record was established during the third edition of “Salerno Dolcissima”, an event promoted by CNA Salerno and organized by the Italia Eventi Association, with the support of the Municipality of Salerno, the Chamber of Commerce, UNOE, and The Chocolate Way Association. The giant chocolate bar, around 40 centimeters wide and made from nearly 200 kilograms of 65% dark chocolate, was enhanced with candied Amalfi lemon peel and dried white figs from Cilento. Hundreds of visitors watched the official measurement, celebrating yet another milestone for the renowned chocolatier, already famous for his edible sculptures and Guinness World Records. This marks Della Vecchia’s twentieth record, a milestone he dedicated to the city that hosted him. “Each time I think it might be my last record,” he said, “but what truly matters to me is telling the story of the places that welcome me. Here in Salerno, among friends, I wanted to gift the city something unforgettable.”
