On the six-month anniversary of Pope Leo XIV's election, Vatican Radio - Vatican News presents "Leo from Chicago", a documentary about the life, familial roots, studies, and Augustinian vocation of Robert Francis Prevost in the United States. The narrative commences with his formative years in Dolton, encompassing memories of his siblings Louis and John, schools, universities, communities, and parishes, supplemented by accounts from fellow friars, educators, classmates, and friends. The film follows "León de Perú", which recounts the future Pontiff's years of mission in South America. The documentary was produced by the Dicastery for Communication's Editorial Director in partnership with the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Apostolado ESNE, and it was directed by journalists Deborah Castellano-Lubov, Salvatore Cernuzio, and Felipe Herrera-Espalia, with editing by Jaime Vizcaíno Haro. The documentary will be released today at 6:00 PM (Rome time) on the Vatican News YouTube channel, available in three languages (Italian, English, and Spanish), and distributed through other international media outlets. It will be shown in numerous Italian cities in the coming days during public events honoring Pope Leo, including Vicenza and Cremona (November 21), Trento (November 25), Verona (December 1), Genoa (December 5), and Cagliari (December 15).
