Giuseppe Vessicchio, often known as Peppe, one of the most familiar faces on Italian television, a maestro and conductor, and a frequent presence on the podium at the Sanremo Music Festival, has died at the age of 69. Vessicchio was hospitalized in the intensive care unit at San Camillo Forlanini Hospital in Rome due to interstitial pneumonia, which swiftly deteriorated. Peppe Vessicchio, a composer, conductor, and arranger who was born in Naples, was well-known for his musical sensitivity and ability to combine tradition and modernity. The general audience knows him mainly for his numerous appearances at the Sanremo Music Festival, where he accompanied the most famous Italian and foreign musicians. He won four prizes for best arranger and performed the winning songs four times. He also worked as the musical director and teacher for Maria De Filippi's talent program "Amici" for several years. Roberto Vecchioni, Andrea Bocelli, Elio e le Storie Tese, Syria, Zucchero, Lorella Cuccarini, Avion Travel, Ron, Biagio Antonacci, Ornella Vanoni, Fred Bongusto, Tom Jobim, Ivana Spagna, and Max Gazzè are among those for whom she arranged music. The funeral, it is reported, will be held privately.
