A survey conducted by Ipsos Doxa reveals growing challenges in political communication in Italy. A general decline in Italians' confidence in the media has been observed: 64% of respondents indicate diminished trust compared to five years prior. However, this issue is mostly caused by "new" media: podcasts, social networks, and influencers are all well below the 50% mark. The majority of individuals continue to trust the "traditional" media (television, radio, and newspapers). Printed newspapers, for example, have 60% trust, second only to radio (63%). A positive sign for the future is that Generation Z (up to age 28) shows trust levels equal to or even higher than the general population — reaching 62% for newspapers. However, it is concerning that young people are increasingly likely to bury themselves in identity-based attitudes and are becoming resistant to interacting with opposing viewpoints. It is a general habit among people, but it is becoming increasingly popular among younger generations.
