During the “Most 2025 – Innovation That Connects” event in Rome, Poste Italiane CEO Matteo Del Fante spoke about the future of delivery, unveiling the company’s latest innovation — an autonomous vehicle "equipped with lockers and a refill station". This vehicle will operate in metropolitan areas with little traffic and will notify receivers of its arrival via an app. "You open the compartment and pick up or deliver the package", Del Fante explained. "On the other side of the vehicle, there's a convenient refill space for our postmen in the city center", to restock parcels and mail for delivery. Another item introduced was "our drone, which toured for four months last year" between Campania and the smaller islands. "It carries parcels; we're working to increase the payload to 30 kilos". Technologies of this nature, he explained, "are advancing swiftly across the globe", before proceeding to introduce the "third experiment", an e-bike equipped with "extensive onboard technology" to streamline loading procedures.
