Alberto Bertone, president and CEO of Acqua Sant'Anna, a Vinadio (Cuneo)-based company that under his guidance rose to become one of Italy's largest mineral water producers, died at the age of 59. His family, employees, and collaborators announced his passing "with immense sorrow", describing him as an enlightened entrepreneur and a man of great humanity. Bertone founded Acqua Sant'Anna in 1996, developing the Valle Stura facility into a major industrial operation. Within a span of just a few decades, the company expanded to manufacture over 20 million bottles daily, employing more than 130 staff members, and establishing itself as a benchmark in the industry for quality, innovation, and environmental responsibility. In a statement issued after his death, the company praised him as "a visionary and courageous entrepreneur, capable of combining innovation, sensitivity to people, and love for the local area". His leadership style, based on respect, teamwork, and a spirit of continual development, had a significant impact on Italy's economic and social fabric. Born in Moncalieri (Turin) in 1966, with a degree in Political Science and father of two children, Bertone comes from a family of industrialists originating from the Cuneo region. Throughout his career, he consistently showed management expertise and a human touch, which contributed to the company's success and stability. In 2016, his partner, Roberta Ruffino, died prematurely. In recent months, he had scaled back his commitments for health reasons. His legacy is that of an entrepreneur who used vision, creativity, and a strong sense of duty to turn an idea started in the Piedmont mountains into a national success.
