A few days before the event, he shared in a video message some of the films that hold special meaning for him: 'It’s a Wonderful Life' (1946) by Frank Capra; 'The Sound of Music' (1965) by Robert Wise; 'Ordinary People' (1980) by Robert Redford; and 'Life is Beautiful' (1997) by Roberto Benigni. In the Jubilee year, Pope Leo XIV has expressed the desire to "deepen", the Dicastery for Culture and Education announced, "the dialogue with the world of cinema, particularly with actors and directors, examining the opportunities that artistic creativity provides to the Church's mission and the promotion of human values".
