Sunday Mass at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Giugliano, Campania, was cut short by an unusual incident: a 67-year-old man, irritated by the excessive ringing of the bells, entered the church with a drum and began beating it in front of the audience. The protest lasted a few minutes, causing surprise and agitation, before the man abruptly left while some of those present had already called the cops. According to reports, the 67-year-old had regularly complained about the noise made by the bells, which he found especially unpleasant considering his home's proximity to the parish church. There have been no previous complaints, but the behavior appears to be part of a long-standing issue. The Carabinieri, who came shortly after, interviewed the parish priest and the people present. While the officers were conducting their routine checks, the priest explained what had happened and stated that he did not intend to file a complaint. There were no reports of damage or violent behavior.
