This year's theme is "Intersections", which, according to the magazine, investigates the ability of music to connect and inspire new views when combined with other mediums such as art, film, sports, literature, activism, and social media. It is therefore understandable why the award was given to her, whom Billboard America had previously described as "the fourth most beautiful voice in the world": "For thirty years, Giorgia's voice has been a defining characteristic of Italian music.
