Giorgia is the Woman of the Year. Billboard Italia, the Italian branch of the renowned American magazine, has announced the award, which honors the Roman singer-songwriter with 25 million records sold with the Billboard Women in Music Award. This year's theme is "Intersections", which, according to the magazine, investigates the ability of music to connect and inspire new views when combined with other mediums such as art, film, sports, literature, activism, and social media. It is therefore understandable why the award was given to her, whom Billboard America had previously described as "the fourth most beautiful voice in the world": "For thirty years, Giorgia's voice has been a defining characteristic of Italian music. Her most renowned songs, from 'Come saprei' to 'Gocce di memoria', have become integral to the cultural fabric of our nation. Over the years she has proven to be a complete artist. Always independent and in control of her own path, Giorgia also serves as an exemplary figure for women in the entertainment industry, illustrating how a career can be revitalized, reborn, and redefined. 2025 is undoubtedly her year", states the award citation. After a three-decade career, the singer of 'Di sole e d'azzurro' reaffirms the iconic nature of her voice and her role in the artistic landscape, from her victory and numerous appearances at the Sanremo Festival, the most important event in the Italian music scene, to her duets with Ray Charles and Lionel Richie and her collaboration with tenor Andrea Bocelli in 'Vivo per lei'.
