Fincantieri has secured a new contract from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, a holding company based in the United States and registered in Bermuda, for the construction of an ultra-luxury cruise ship for the American cruise company's Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand. The Italian shipbuilding business claimed that the order is worth between €500 million and €1 billion. The new ship, due for completion in 2033, will be a sister ship of Seven Seas Prestige, the first of the new "Prestige" class, which is presently being built at the Marghera shipyard and is scheduled to be delivered in 2026. A second vessel of the same class is already scheduled for 2030. With a gross tonnage of 77,000 tons and a length of 257 meters, the new ship will carry 822 passengers, providing one of the industry's highest space-to-guest ratios. Fincantieri has previously built ten ships for NCLH's various brands, and the present order list includes thirteen more units designed to strengthen the US group's fleet.
