Rome becomes the focal point of United Nations humanitarian help. The Italian capital will take the lead in humanitarian relief to Palestine and Africa, serving as a crucial distribution point for medications, vaccinations, food, and drinking water. It will also aid health, education, and protection initiatives in areas affected by crises—regions where individuals continue to succumb to starvation or conflict. Beginning with Gaza, which has been defaced by a conflict with a continuing dead toll, notwithstanding the ceasefire accord signed in Sharm el-Sheikh on October 13. In the Gaza Strip, which has been burnt to the ground by Israeli raids, Italy has made significant contributions in terms of humanitarian relief, reducing the suffering of Palestinian civilians by providing over 200 tons of food and 2,000 tons of flour with the World Food Programme. 500 UNICEF personnel will relocate to Rome, preparing to leave their Geneva offices and assume desks at the World Food Programme headquarters, which has offered to house the officials.
