EssilorLuxottica is reportedly willing to invest in the Armani Group. The Italian-French giant led by Francesco Milleri has informed the Armani Foundation and the heirs of the designer, who died on 4 September, of its willingness to take part in the shareholder reorganization of the maison as envisaged by its founder. EssilorLuxottica aims to secure its position as a "corner investor", indicating a willingness to obtain a stake ranging from 5% to 10% of the capital, without assuming an active role or holding a seat on the board of directors. EssilorLuxottica, similar to the Armani Foundation, is reported to "support" the founder's family and the fashion house during this new phase, without, however, adopting a controlling position. This is attributed to the profound respect and veneration that Giorgio Armani held for Leonardo Del Vecchio and the EssilorLuxottica group. A partnership that stretches back to 1988, when Del Vecchio collaborated with the founder to deliver Armani-branded eyewear to the global market, using the best materials and painstaking craftsmanship.
