The 2025 regional elections in Veneto, Campania, and Puglia resulted in three straightforward and unsurprising victories, matching pre-election expectations. The pattern of the vote was evident from the preliminary exit surveys, which were subsequently corroborated by the official tally. In Veneto, the newly elected president, Alberto Stefani (Lega), markedly surpassed his opponent, Giovanni Manildo, by a margin exceeding 35 percentage points: upon counting 3,202 of the 4,729 polling stations, Stefani received 64.2% of the vote, whereas Manildo secured 28.9%. The other two regions had similarly overwhelming outcomes. In Campania, Roberto Fico (M5S) obtained 61% of the vote, defeating Edmondo Cirielli by a wide majority after 2,005 of the 5,825 polling stations were counted. In Puglia, Antonio Decaro secured the victory with 64.9%, surpassing Luigi Lobuono, who received 34.2%, following the counting of 2,589 out of 4,032 polling stations. While these were expected triumphs, their scale exceeded expectations, thanks in part to the low turnout—43.6%, 10 to 16 percentage points lower than the previous round—which appears to have benefitted the exiting governments.
