Rome's Carabinieri have performed an initial external assessment of the Torre dei Conti, the medieval edifice situated between Via Cavour and Via dei Fori Imperiali that experienced two collapses on November 3rd. The examination was required before construction could begin to secure the tower. According to the plan created by the Superintendency of the Colosseum Archaeological Park, the Capitoline Superintendency, and the Fire Department, the first stage will be "a series of targeted interventions aimed at securing the area and ensuring the safety of citizens". The medieval structure will not be dismantled; instead, expert assessments are required for the trial, which could be held following the prosecutor's probe. A worker, Octav Stroici, was killed in the collapse, and the case is being probed for homicide and manslaughter. The inquiry is presently targeting unknown individuals, and in order to acquire more evidence, a public plea has been issued to anyone having footage of the collapses: "Send them to us by email or WhatsApp", said Corina Lanza, commander of the Carabinieri of Piazza Venezia.
