The public selection process has begun, allowing coin collectors to vote online for the most representative coin from the 2025 Collection in Italy. This year's collection, which has sold out 19 times, has numerous notable additions, including a one-kilogram silver coin commemorating the 550th anniversary of Michelangelo Buonarroti's birth. The collection also features commemorative coins dedicated to the Milan Cortina Olympic and Paralympic Games, issued for the first time in a one-ounce silver format. Another major novelty is the 5-euro silver coin “Against violence, together with women", featuring Alda Merini’s poem 'Farfalle libere'. There are also issues in unusual shapes, such as the 10-euro frame coin, known as "the donut," designed to house the two-euro coin commemorating the voyage of the training ship Amerigo Vespucci; the 16-sided coin commemorating the 160th anniversary of the Port Authorities and the Coast Guard; and the hexagonal coin dedicated to Automobili Lamborghini.
