Versace's entry into the Prada Group is no longer just a theory; the acquisition was legally completed on December 2 after receiving approval from the appropriate authorities. Prada acquired the famous Medusa fashion house from Capri Holdings for approximately €1.3 billion, marking one of the year's most significant movements in the luxury sector. The announcement comes only days after the Prada Academy Group celebrated its 25th anniversary, during which Lorenzo Bertelli, the group's chief marketing officer and head of sustainability, confirmed his appointment as Versace's executive chairman. Bertelli also projected that numerous production synergies will be realized within one to two years, while underscoring that the sector's primary focus remains on top-line growth. "We are a multi-brand group: we are not embarking on something completely new", he explained.
