The top school in Italy is the Liceo Giovanni Battista Ferrari in Este, in the province of Padua: it's a scientific high school that focuses on practical sciences, with computer science replacing Latin. It narrowly defeated two other "traditional" scientific high schools, Giovenale Ancina in Fossano (Cuneo) and Dal Piaz in Feltre (Belluno). This is according to the Agnelli Foundation's Eduscopio rankings, which assess the excellence of Italian schools. In Milan, the Liceo Berchet returns to the top of the classical high schools, while the Liceo Volta maintains its position at the top of the scientific high schools. However, the Marie Curie classical high school in Meda outperforms all high schools in both the Lombardy city and its surroundings. In Rome, the Liceo Classico Visconti and the Liceo Scientifico Righi remain at the top, with higher scores than their Milan counterparts. The Agnelli Foundation's survey tracks the university (exams taken and grade point average) and job outcomes (employment rate and consistency between study and work) of high school graduates from 2020 to 2022, the Covid years. Data on 1,355,000 graduates from 8,150 schools were analyzed.
