From elite ski champions to amateur enthusiasts, numerous athletes employ synthetic slopes for training during the warmer months, an innovation that has enabled winter sports to transcend seasonal and weather-related limitations. Neveplast, an Albano Sant'Alessandro (Bergamo) company, has been designing, building, and selling year-round ski slopes globally since 1998, from China to Central America, the United States to New Zealand, and, of course, practically every region in Europe. The Bergamo-based firm provides its products on a comprehensive basis and manages the complete construction process, from feasibility assessments to both routine and extraordinary maintenance. Among the numerous projects completed over the years, Copenhill, the incline enabling skiing on the artificial hill in Copenhagen, Denmark, integrated with an 85-meter-high waste-to-energy facility, has garnered extensive media attention. Neveplast surfaces are constructed from synthetic material mixtures that accurately replicate the tactile sensation, grip, and performance of a natural snow surface. Their design also permits the utilization of standard winter equipment without causing damage. Neveplast's all-year slopes are also regenerable; as they reach the end of their life, they are salvaged, renovated, and reinstalled. Because of their circular process, they are a far more environmentally friendly alternative to manufactured snow.
