The European Investment Bank (EIB) has released the Italian results of the EIB Group Survey on Investment 2025 (EIBIS), which gathers insights from around 12,000 companies across Europe and the United States on investment trends.
According to the report, 80% of Italian firms invested over the past year—down from 87% in 2024 and below the EU average of 86%. Despite this decline, expectations for 2025 show a clear recovery in sentiment.
Looking ahead, 27% of Italian companies plan to increase their investment spending, while only 16% expect to scale back. The resulting positive balance of +11% is more than double the EU figure (+4%) and significantly above last year’s result for Italy (+3%).
