Consequently, amid the aggressive actions of the US and Russia against the EU, Tajani urges all to "act decisively, now or never”. He further clarified that the goal is not "less Europe, but rather a Europe that renews itself, becoming a leading and even autonomous entity". Tajani also highlighted that "Italy can play a pivotal role in this transformation, understanding its own needs. The foremost is to rediscover a political soul—one rooted in the Christian tradition, the Enlightenment, human rights, respect for the individual—the only one that does not provide for the death penalty".
