The 2025 edition of "Più Libri Più Liberi", the National Small and Medium-Sized Publishing Fair organized in Rome by the Italian Publishers Association, concluded on December 8th after five comprehensive days of events. More than 85,000 visitors by the end of the fourth day—suggesting a final count in line with last year’s edition—crossed the threshold of Fuksas’ Nuvola, where books were the protagonists of “Reason and Sentiment,” a program dedicated to Jane Austen curated by Chiara Valerio in her final year as curator of the fair. Walking through the suspended spaces, a large community of readers had the opportunity to meet hundreds of writers from around the world. This year's stats are as follows: 55,000 square meters of exhibition space, 604 exhibitors spread across the multifunctional floor and forum, 17 meeting rooms and collective spaces for over 750 public events, and 1,800 speakers. The expo also featured the inauguration of PEN Roma, a permanent observatory dedicated to freedom of expression, with PEN International President Burhan Sönmez, Italian President Sandro Veronesi, Roberto Saviano, and Helena Janeczek. Fiction, current affairs, graphic novels, informational works, art, nonfiction, and children's literature attracted 1,800 national and international attendees to the fair, engaging with vital topics in contemporary discourse from a range of diverse perspectives and viewpoints.
