A year characterized by tennis, as well as music, entertainment, true crime, and spirituality: this is what emerges from the inquiries carried out by Italians in 2025 on the Italian Wikipedia, as revealed by Wikimedia Italia. Tennis remains the subject of greatest interest in the country: Jannik Sinner, for the second consecutive year, ranks as the most visited article on the Italian Wikipedia in 2025. His adversary, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, is ranked seventh. The Top 10 also reflects current events: for the second time in history that a Pope has died during a Jubilee year, the podium features Pope Francis (third place) alongside his successor, Leo XIV (second). Just a few places lower appear the pages “List of Popes” (sixth) and Pope John Paul II (tenth). Entertainment also has its space: in fourth place—with over 2.6 million visits—is Lucio Corsi, a standout figure of the Sanremo Music Festival, the flagship of Rai’s programming, which ranks fifth overall.. Then there's true crime. The entry on American serial murderer Ed Gein is the seventh: the narrative of the "Plainfield Butcher", who was responsible for two murders and grave robberies in Wisconsin before being declared crazy and transported to a criminal asylum, where he spent the last sixteen years of his life. This story has resurfaced as a result of the television series "Monster: The Ed Gein Story". In ninth place is the Garlasco case, which continues to be the subject of debate and media attention.
