The Italian Institute of Technology in Genoa has developed the first Italian startup focused on intelligent humanoid robotics. Generative Bionics launched with a €70 million funding round, marking one of the greatest investments in Europe within the deep tech industry. This operation is a significant step for the Italian innovation ecosystem, establishing the country as a leader in the emerging field of physical AI. The new company leverages advanced research in humanoid robotics conducted at the IIT and aspires to establish itself as a benchmark both nationally and throughout Europe. "Our mission is to build a future in which intelligent humanoid robots collaborate with people every day, amplifying the cognitive and physical potential of humans", remarked Generative Bionics CEO and co-founder Daniele Pucci. "Through our physical AI capabilities, we are equipped to engineer and manufacture human-centric robots that can provide demonstrable value across a variety of industrial sectors", he stated. The funding is led by CDP Venture Capital's Artificial Intelligence Fund, with participation from AMD Ventures, Duferco, Eni Next, RoboIT, and Tether.
