Bankitalia is more optimistic about the Italian economy. The growth predictions for 2027 have been revised upward. The newest macroeconomic projections for the next four years show a promising path for the Italian economy, yet uncertainties persist. In terms of GDP, the Bank of Italy forecasts 0.6% growth in 2025, 0.8% in 2027, and 0.9% in 2028. These percentages have been somewhat revised upward, particularly for 2027, "due to slightly higher consumption growth, also due to low inflation". However, these statistics are lower than the European Central Bank's growth forecast for the eurozone: GDP growth of 1.4% in 2025, 1.2% in 2026, and 1.4% in 2027, which is likely to continue in 2028. Germany, which has faced economic instability in recent years, is also doing better. According to Bundesbank forecasts, GDP will expand by 0.6% in 2026, 1.3% in 2027, and 1.1% in 2028. This expansion is being fueled by two projects: the €377 billion mega-plan for defense and infrastructure, and a €130 billion budget law.
