The number of Italian companies turning to professional services to help them move some of their production to the United States is growing. The consistent increase in relocations to the United States reflects the policies enacted by the White House, as well as the fact that the US remains a highly attractive market, particularly given the decline in the contribution of US industry in recent years. The US manufacturing industry has suffered from years of offshore, which has hampered the production of more complicated products. This has opened up significant opportunities for Italian companies capable of relocating across the ocean: When considering direct investment within the United States, the imposition of tariffs represents just one factor, and not necessarily the most significant. Tariff policies have, however, served to expedite this process", explains Fabio Venegoni, a tax advisor and partner at Trotter Studio Associato in Milan, specializing in corporate consultancy. "The numerous Italian companies interested in the United States are drawn by the extensive domestic market, which demands higher-quality products; however, the local industry continues to experience a deficiency in sufficient supply". It’s not just traditional sectors like food and fashion that are interested in moving to the US, but also mechanics and precision manufacturing. Currently, it is estimated that around 3,500 Italian-controlled companies are active in America.
