An act of quiet generosity has significantly benefited public healthcare in Carpi. An anonymous local resident has donated medical equipment worth approximately €280,000 to the Ramazzini Hospital, enhancing the capabilities of multiple departments.
The Intensive Care Unit, led by Dr Alessandro Pignatti, has received a thromboelastograph, a crucial device for assessing blood coagulation in critically ill patients. General Surgery, under Dr Michele Varoli, has been equipped with a new endoscopic tower, an essential tool for operating theatres. Meanwhile, the Digestive Endoscopy Unit, directed by Dr Mauro Manno, can now rely on an enteroscope, allowing for advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of the small intestine.
Urology has also benefited from the donation. The surgical outpatient clinic, overseen by Dr Giuseppe De Luca within the department headed by Dr Fabio Manferrari, received a uroflowmeter, a key instrument for evaluating urinary tract function.
The donation further strengthened the Rehabilitation Medicine department, which acquired new equipment including a treadmill for rehabilitation programs, a stabilometric platform for balance assessment, devices for upper and lower limb mobility, muscle-strengthening tools and two electric treatment beds.
