The association I Borghi più belli d’Italia has welcomed seven new towns, bringing the total number of certified villages to 382. The recognition follows a detailed evaluation based on 72 quality criteria covering cultural heritage, landscape, environmental protection and tourist services. Among the new entries is Limone sul Garda in Lombardy, known for its dramatic lake views and historic lemon houses. Liguria is represented by Pieve di Teco, famous for its medieval arcades, while Castelvetro di Modena joins from Emilia-Romagna. In southern Italy, Cusano Mutri in Campania and Rivello in Basilicata have been added for their historical charm and natural surroundings. Two “guest villages” were also included: the medieval Piazzo district in Biella, Piedmont, and the Borgo Vecchio of Termoli, a fortified old town overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
