The Italian government has decided to put a vote of confidence before the Chamber of Deputies on the 2026 budget law. The request was formally presented in the chamber by Minister for Parliamentary Relations Luca Ciriani. The roll-call vote is scheduled for Monday evening, with final approval of the measure expected on Tuesday late morning.
Having already passed the Senate, the bill arrived at its third reading without the possibility of amendments, a necessary step to avoid resorting to provisional budget measures. After a swift passage through committee, the government opted to secure parliamentary approval by tying the vote to a confidence motion.
