Following criticism over the introduction of an orange ball in Serie A, the league has decided to revert to more traditional, highly visible colors. League President Ezio Maria Simonelli told Rai Radio 1 that the decision to return to white or yellow balls was prompted by valid complaints, especially from those with color blindness who struggled to see the orange ball during matches. The league has requested the supplier to accelerate production of the new balls, though it will take some time to replace the 500 balls required per match, plus those used for training. “It was not a wise choice,” Simonelli admitted, confirming that the league will soon switch back to more familiar colors.
